Re: Eagle Cam! Watch Live!

I found out later that the eagle has a 105 degree core temperature, and that the eggs are about 74 degrees. Not long after I posted the one above, she woke up. They can withstand temperatures up to -21. Wow.

Re: Eagle Cam! Watch Live!

It's snowed in the east, and the Hays eagle is covered in ice as she broods her eggs.

It's 10:57 PM my time, EST, and she's asleep. You can see her breathing with her head tucked. I hope she can stand the cold.

Re: My dear Joon...

I just got through the 53rd anniversary of Susan Castka's death. From the 9th thru the 11th of February every year, I remember my best friend. Up above my head, I have two dolls, perched on a broad shelf. They're both from the original American Doll & Toy Company that evolved into Mattel. They s...

Re: My dear Joon...

I was really looking forward to going out today. I had four things I wanted to do, and I really wanted a companion. I'd decided that I was going to buy perishables for the Lenten Food-Drive. I know it sounds oxymoronish, but this is for the pantry that Saint Francis supports. And the Franciscans dec...

Re: My dear Joon...

I own a key. It opens the door to my home. And in my home, I have food, clothing, all the comforts I could possibly wish. I have a bed. It's old. The mattress should be replaced, that is according to those whose business it is to sell mattresses. But I have sheets that fit it, I wash them routinely....

Re: My dear Joon...

No Michael today :( . One of the boys was in the hospital - it was a med adjustment - leaving the house short, so. I didn't think they were going to come anyway. We've had 24 hours of freezing rain. Everything looks like it's been decoupaged, and the temperature is still going to be near freezing to...
