Agree with Tom on that one - and The Good Wife, and Masterpiece Theatre...

:welcome: Hi, robert! Just a suggestion, but you might do well to post in the upper topics, say "Other" for "Family Guy". There responders will see you more easily :).

Hey Robert and Steiven. :)

I like to watch Big Bang Theory and Fringe, and also Once Upon a Time. I can't wait for the new seasons to start for each one.

Yep, gotta include The Big Band Theory and Once Upon A Time too. Some new Mythbusters seem to be drifting through now.

Blue Bloods is ok, glad they got rid of that story arc where one of the sons of the Police Commissioner (who also happens to be a graduate of an Ivy League law school) was undercover trying to infiltrate a crime family.

Well, here are some of my favourites:

- Criminal Minds
- Bones
- Leverage
- Death in Paradise
- Spooks
- Castle
- NCIS (both of them)
- The George Gently Series
- The Silent Witness Series
- The Inspector Lewis Series
- The Wire in the Blood Series
- Life on Mars (the British Original)
and others

(and anything starring Sean Bean and/or Richard Armitage) ;) :D

(hard to deny I'm a crime fan...)

As for comedy, I'd go for British classics all the way. Blackadder, Monty Python, French & Saunders, The Vicar of Dibley etc. etc. etc.

I love the Inspector Lewis, too. And the Inspector Morse that led up to them.
If I've had the chance to see the original series, I'm ruined for the remakes.

There was a very short lived 'remake' of Prime Suspect last fall and it died. My husband was watching it and it just disappeared. It was pretty bad. :P

And British comedy rules!

Inspector Morse does ring a distant bell, but I don't really remember. :/

Prime Suspect without Helen Mirren? :/

And British comedy rules!

I second that. For me, it's the best!

Way before your time. Colin Dexter wrote the series called Inspector Morse, with Lewis as his sargent, back in the day.
Prime Suspect without Helen Mirren? :/

Oh, yeah  ...and see? It even reads as ridiculous as it sounds!

Yes, Inspector Lewis is good. Nice views of Oxford in some of the episodes. :)

Another good detective show set in SW England is Midsomer Murders. Looks like Somerset is the inspiration for Midsomer.

O my gosh, yes! I forgot about Midsomer Murders! They re-run them on Bravo here, every so often I catch them.

Yes, I like them too. We haven't got round to the new Inspector Barnaby yet, currently they re-run the old series. Last Monday I caught the episode where Orlando Bloom was murdered by pitchfork.

Oh yeah! I didn't know who he was then! He was not a nice guy in that.

And sooo young!

Watched the first episode of "Strike Back" on DVD yesterday. I do have mixed feelings about this one, though I have to say it's a fine cast of characters and the acting is very well. It left me pretty agitated, my mind didn't really come to a rest. Will continue to watch.
