'The Witcher'

Postby Shuggy » Thu Sep 16, 2010 9:53 am

Has anyone read the book that the PC game was based on?

I enjoyed it very much - you can tell it has been translated from Polish, but it's not a bad translation, if you get me. It just leaves the book feeling very culturally 'different', which I suppose adds authenticity.

The book starts with the full story of what we see in the PC game intro film, and progresses as a series of stand-alone stories, each in a new chapter, but with a through story.

No experience of the PC game is necessary, given that the book came first, but I suppose having played the game extensively meant that I probably settled into the book's world and peculiarities a lot quicker than a 'virgin'reader would.
