I was listening to a movie critic the other day, and he told a story about a conversation he had with a LOTR fan. It was so heartfelt; he said that there were tears as she told him how Peter Jackson was a fan, just like her, and he has a fan's sensibilities. George Lucas never was a fan. He is the author, the creator of this world, and in the beginning, when he was hungry, he listened to enough people who weren't shy about sharing their opinions and went with more than a few of them. That's why the Trilogy was so successful. When Tolkien was alive, he shot down every single pitch to make these into movies

Then, after all the billions and all the accolades from the first work, things were very different for both Jackson and Lucas. Not so hungry, not so eager to hear what anybody else thinks. Anyway, it's what I think, imbiesho.
We haven't seen TFA, yet; we're waiting for it to show up On Demand. Actually, the Phillips head screwdriver had to come from somewhere - maybe it was developed in a galaxy far, far away? I don't know what I'd do without mine.
