Hi ladies,

the copyright bludgers have been getting out of hand. There's a raft of legislation they're trying to bring in and we need all Americans to contact their representatives to head it off. Details here: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c112:H.R.3523:

This is called CISPA and it's really dangerous. They're using cyber-security as an excuse to invade our privacy and it is my business because the US is exporting its IP laws over here. They're in the process of extraditing a young lad by the name of Richard O'Dwyer for LINKING to copyright films, etc.

So if you're American, please please please email or call your rep and remind them that this is an election year. Here's a list of reps that supported it. If any of these is yours, give him or her a rocket!
To err is but human, to forgive divine, and to design is AWESOME! :8

Season 3 starts tonight. If I don't fall asleep beforehand, I might watch a bit. :D

Really?! I must check our listings. I think it begins later here though. Good reminder of another thing I must check on - my 6 months of free movie channels is probably up and I don't want to get roped into paying for things I'm not watching!
*Edit - Do you mean Season 4, Paddy? It doesn't start until April 6 here. Or are you re-watching Season 3 to be primed and ready for 4?

Hi Vairë!! Long time, no see!

No, I meant season 3. We're (as usual) about 1 year behind. Season 4 will start on Pay TV this spring, but I suppose it won't be available on free tv until fall.

I fell asleep, btw, because it was so late... :paperbag:

The characters are too old. They should be replaced by teenagers (that's why I had major trouble trying to read the books. I gave up, I couldn't stand envisioning what was happening).

Nearly everybody I knew that was following it, gave up in disgust. It was the whole rape/incest/ad nauseum that just became too much (South Park covered "Thrones" in an episode, making fun of it, and, as much as I like SP, I just had to turn it off; I couldn't stand it.)

I watched season 3 while on a trans pacific flight. Between the two trips, I finished it. I have the DVD sets of season 1 & 2.

As I have tried to read Game of Thrones about 6 times, managing to get half way through it once. I had given up on ever reading the book series. So this TV series is it for me as far as Ice & Fire go. It does show G.R.R. Martin as a sort of perverted sicko when the age aspect is considered. HBO rightly made the characters older to stave off any possible child pornography accusations.

Yep. My reason for giving up on the books...
