TrueBlood

Postby Cassie » Tue Jun 08, 2010 4:55 pm

Anyone else watch this? :D

Season 3 is starting on Sunday and hubby and I haven't watched season 2 yet  We'll be glued to the dvd-player all week!

(And as a side note, should this be in the fantasy section? I'm not sure :? )

It would appear not, which I find very suprising on a site like... actually; skip that - I bet loads of people here watch it, but it would require effort on their part to reply. :|

I myself do not watch it, but Mrs Shuggy is a huge fan and I catch glimpses of it in the corner of my eye. I think the whole vampire genre is getting a bit old and stale, personally. And although I approve of all the gratuitous shagging that seems to be going on, I do find myself thinking "Why mess around? Just go hardcore porn!".

But that's just me.

Then Mrs Shuggy needs to get on here ;)

I do agree that vampires have been done to death, but I like the angle that Trueblood takes. It's not the cheesy vampires-in-cloaks type story, it's very every day and real life and down to earth. Plus it's set in rural Louisiana, not exactly your typical vampire haunt. The books are far superior to the HBO version though, and even less traditional vampire-y. Of course, having the regularly naked eye-candy in the tv show isn't exactly a hardship :D

Waiting for season 4 here. Started out as a casual watcher, but the eye-candy kept me watching... or maybe I got under the Viking's spell... :D

 You too Paddy? I started watching it because a friend reccommended it and let me borrow the first season... which ended on a cliffhanger of course, so then I had to watch season two to find out how it ended and that just got me hooked. I watched seasons 3 and 4 online, but I can't get season 5 to work.

And that lead me to falling in love with Eric's character.... So now I think I watch it for him.

Yep, that definitely sounds like me

Season 4 is already out on DVD (but waaaay too expensive), but hasn't aired yet. :/ I'm getting a bit angry on the TV stations...

I watched it until about the fourth season and then it got worse and worse. The last season really sucked.

Seasons 5 - 7 never aired in Germany, but from what I heard, weren't worth watching at all.
