Happy Pi Day! (belatedly)

Re: The Big Bang Theory
Oh yes, I saw that somewhere. And a Happy Belated Pi Day to you too, Shireling!

Re: The Big Bang Theory

I wanted to post this in the worst way. Just wasn't sure it belonged here...

Or this, but, to me, it looks like it belongs on the show:

Re: The Big Bang Theory
Those are great! At first I was going to say "I don't get it" with the fish joke, but then I read it out loud...
Love the rowers! What a work-out that would be, eh?

Re: The Big Bang Theory
Those rowers are going nowhere fast.

Re: The Big Bang Theory
...and maybe the rowers are the actions for which there are equal and opposite reactions?

Re: The Big Bang Theory
Egad, Shireling, you're getting far too clever for me now. I've had quite enough cleverness for one day - my daughter wants to go back to school and has to write entrance exams. She's been studying for the math exam tomorrow and we were brainstorming, trying to remember how to work percentages, and then ALGEBRA! After almost 40 years since high school graduation, I actually remembered somewhat how to do it!! But now my brain hurts.

Re: The Big Bang Theory
I just passed algebra - barely. Because my papers were always neat, I never missed a class, and I always illustrated my word problems, that netted me a D+ .
But every single answer was wrong. Even my husband said that was impossible, that the laws of probability dictate that I should have gotten at least one right, even if just by guessing. Except I never guessed; I just wrote down any number I could see in the closest possible proximity to the paper.
The trouble was and still is that x kept changing for each new equation, and nobody would tell me what it became...

Re: The Big Bang Theory
Well I hate to tell you, Shireling, but x is still changing!
I'm betting you excelled at English class though.

Yep, as a second language

Re: The Big Bang Theory
That's fantastic! And who better to sing that anyway?!

Re: The Big Bang Theory
Well now, that was entertaining.
