What is this? I've seen cartoon cats do this, but never in life!

That would be fun! I just love that spot. Can't help laughing out loud every time it's on tv. :lol:

Away in a basket, all curled up was Fred,
A tabby who took up a creche as his bed.
I guess, for the kitty, that this is okay
As long as he moves out upon Christmas Day.

I showed this to a friend of mine, and she just nodded and said, "Yep." :lol:

Asleep with the Baby, lies a doggy named Buck,
A sweet shepherd puppy who's down on his luck.
The little Lord Jesus likes having him there,
And keeping him warm from the cold winter air.

The manger is cozy, with beasts all asleep;
A donkey, two oxen, and four or five sheep.
May God bless the Bucky, and grant him a home;
Some children to love and a big juicy bone.

Amy's concerning me a bit.

I hadn't been really paying attention, but after the past couple of weeks, I can see that my girl's becoming senile. She's sitting at the living room end of the hall, and looking toward the bedroom, as if she's about to run and seek shelter. She's seeing and hearing things. I know her hearing is more keen than mine, but it used to be that we both noticed stuff at the same time. Now, she's reacting to nothing. And she's calling more than she used to.

I like that, because it's letting me know that the litter box needs cleaned. Or her water needs replenished, or the food dish could use a chicken-flavored snack or two atop the kibble. Or Duane's door is closed and she needs to get into the bed we set up for her. As of today, she has her little red mattress, on the couch; the fluffy blanket in the Honey's room, and another fluffy blanket on my bed - arranged so that she's not right in the middle and I can actually have some sleep space for myself.

But I'm seeing the signs that she's slowing down. I'm hoping for her to make it past her 14th birthday, like Tasha did. If she could go to 19, like Kess, that would be terrific, as long as she's feeling good. She makes me feel like dirt whenever we walk out the door :lol: . I don't mean to laugh, but she spent exactly three weeks in the presence of her last family's dog, and has picked up every single one of his guilt-inducing behaviors. She's got the big-eyed, head-tilt of a Basset hound completely nailed - it's an Oscar winning performance!

Anyway, I just needed to document it. It helps me to keep track of how things are going.

I remember Jessie and Lea getting like that. Timmy's about 8 years now (we don't know his exact age, but the vet agreed with our estimation), and he's still full of energy, and playful. Right now, he doesn't like to go out that much, due to the weather, so he lets off steam indoors :lol: We've taken on playing with his toy mouse regularly so he won't scratch mom's armchair to pieces. He has a scratching post, which he ignores completely :lol: :D . He loves to chase his mouse around the house - preferably at night. :lol: :lol:
