Welcome to The Brand New Sean Bean Appreciation Thread!

Image

Sean Bean was born Shaun Mark Bean on April 17, 1959 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. He has a younger sister, Lorraine. Sean is 5’11” with dark blonde hair and green eyes and has a scar above his left eye. This was a souvenir he received from Harrison Ford during filming of the final scene in Patriot Games.

Sean has 2 'O' Levels from school (Art and English), attended Rotheram College, and then won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). He also has an Honorary Doctorate from Sheffield Hallam University.

His previous films, and roles he has become renown for, are as Spence in Ronin, Sean Miller in Patriot Games, Alec Trevelyan 006 in Goldeneye, Oliver Mellors in Lady Chatterley and as Richard Sharpe in the much loved Sharpe series. He also played Farmer Gray in a 90's remake of Black Beauty.

Just to show the variety and bandwidth of this fantastic actor here are some of the films Sean has starred in: The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Don’t Say a Word, and Essex Boys, Equilibrium, Tom & Thomas and The Big Empty. Sean also successfully returned to the stage to play in Macbeth.

Sean’s other passion is football. He is a lifelong supporter of Sheffield United Football Club and has been signed on as a member of the club’s Board of Directors.

Married and divorced three times, he has three daughters, Lorna and Molly (with Melanie Hill) and Evie (with Abigail Cruttenden). Sean Bean is married for the fourth time and enjoys life with his wife Georgina Sutcliffe.

"Sean Bean...is super-attractive, thanks to his air of guarded self-concsciousness, as though this being-an-actor business were a bit like sitting at the bar with one elbow on the counter, watching the people coming in and out from the corner of one eye."
- Antonia Quirke, writing in a recent edition of West End Extra.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, okay NOW this place is starting to feel like home. Good job, Paddy! I was afraid we wouldn't be doing this sort of thread again so I'm very happy to see you started one up. Does this mean you're now a Mod? :)

Hi Anne! Glad to see you made it in here too! 8-)

Nope, I'm not a Mod. I just took the liberty to start the thread (asked for permission first), to start the fun. I hope Mistress won't mind, after all, all I had to do was a bit of "copy and paste". The research work is all hers :D

I'm sure she wouldn't mind at all. She's pretty short on spare time these days so I'm not sure how much we'll see of her, unfortunately. :(

Finally got to see Sharpe's Challenge a few weeks ago and then Sharpe's Peril the following week. Must say I preferred Peril though. Sean looked better in that one, I thought, a little beefier (just did Troy perhaps?) and didn't seem quite as haggard as he appeared in Challenge. Don't think I'll bother getting Challenge on DVD but think I'll get Peril. 8-)

Seriously Paddy?! Well, we all saw it coming. :| It's too bad, but the man really isn't very good at picking wives, although I did quite like Wife #2 myself. She seemed the best of his selections. Where did you get this info, Paddy?

 I Googled it after I posted and it's all over the place now! Week old news though since she filed on August 6th. Funny how it took awhile to spread around. Well, maybe now he'll perk up a bit. He's been looking very old and worn out - probably since he met her!

I agree. This relationship definitely has taken its toll on him. I kinda hope he's going to take a break now, he needs it.

Gosh, how I missed that! Yes, I saw him in Game of Thrones, although, once again he had to die. :wtf: But at least he was one of the few decent characters

Yup, let's dust it off and stir this thread up again! I'm in :D
