BBC America has started showing Sherlock again. Last night they showed the first show. Funny thing I have kinda sorta been watching The 100 on The CW (you know, fascination with a traffic accident syndrome, you know) but watched the rerun of the first Sherlock instead. Substance over teen angst soap opera BS cwrap. :D

Sherlock's back on here Wednesday nights, and I'm sorry I missed it.

I know what you're saying about substance. The writing just isn't there - well, not for me anyway, when it comes to most American TV. A new season Broadchurch is back, in the same time slot as Sher, and I couldn't record both since the hubby wanted CSI: Cyber as well (which I caught on the rerun. Another formulamative series is what I see so far  , but Duane doesn't need to know that  .) Btw, they made a yankified version of Broadchurch with most of the original cast called 'Gracepoint' and set in California. I ignored it, even though I'd gladly watch David Tennant read through phone books. Americanization is just wrongwrongwrong *shudders in horror at my guilty-pleasure 'Top Gear' without my boys Clarkson, Hammond and Mays*. I've waited for years for the return of 'Traffik' in vain, while the Michael Douglas 'Traffic' gets trotted out again and again. And while I'm on it, I think this is what killed 'Wilfred' (a perfectly good Aussie comedy turned American actor-driven dog dirt.) There goes four years I'll never get back.

I don't know how I lived without BBC-America (although PBS has carried me through most.) It's just so much better. Beginning in April, Orphan Black and Ripper Street will be back (as well as Outlander on Starz, but that's another thing - having a great book series to base it on never hurts. Like I wish they would have used 'The Sunne in Splendour' over 'The White Queen', but I start now I'll never shut up.)

I know there's bad British television, too - there has to be, they're mortal too, right? - but I can't remember when I last saw what I didn't like...

 Oh, I'm so glad you know about Mary! Ahhhhhhh....I did like it, but that was so hard to watch. And Watson's grief was terrible - I don't mean acting-wise - just very real and painful, he was suffering *teary* . I don't know if you knew that they're married in real life, so it was like participating in a future event (you never know which one of you is going to go first, and I'm glad I never thought about it when we were kids.) But that made it all the more real.

I love watching Sherlock deduce. There are a number of cases that he addresses with the people who brought them to him, and it's hilarious. Then there's the one sad one, which was brilliant. I am glad it's back, but now I'm wondering how this is going forward because of Watson's anger at Holmes. I guess Mary had to go (third wheel that she was), but now how do these two find their way back?

Hi Gang! Long time no see! Thought I'd butt in to see if anyone else uses Walagata to host their pictures? My sig pics are on it so I guess I'll see if my post has the pictures or not. I'm unable to access my account although I renewed my membership over a week ago and the payment appears to have gone through. The copyright on the website ended in 2015 and I'm thinking maybe it's shut down. I've tried sending messages on the Support window but to no avail. I'd like to get the photos off it if they're closed because I think there are pictures there that I don't have anywhere else!

I love these Sherlock shows but alas, my pvr missed all the episodes this season because I foolishly set it up to tape Masterpiece Mystery only. :paperbag:

How is everybody? :)

About the current episodes of Sherlock...

Do any of you have this thing where you remember that Stephen Moffat exists and have to work not to fly into a violent hell-fury
