I've been re-watching The White Queen, and it becomes clearer and clearer that Richard and Anne are my favourite characters.... Everybody else is manipulative, power-hungry and not very likeable. :P

I know - I fell like a brick for the two of them  . So cute, and I just wanted to scoop them up and let somebody else rule. I moved my picture of Richard from the kitchen to the bedroom on Friday, and I have TWQ in my DVR (Episodes 5 & 6 are my favorites.)

Tonight, however, Killing Jesus debuts in less than an hour on the National Geographic Channel, and I'm looking forward to James the Greater!

Well, :? I don't know what I was expecting from a movie called Killing Jesus, but I think I got what I deserved...

I tried to watch Killing Jesus again, but I just couldn't stand it. It's not the fault of the actors - it's just that the story is so familiar, the subject so reverential, that you really should not be taking liberties with it, William O'Reilly. Did you ever read it, sir?

I never saw such a clueless Christ in my life. He didn't know who he was - even after the baptism scene, he was completely without direction. And this was a Jesus that looked how you would expect a First Century Jewish man to look (btw, Haaz Sleiman, born in Lebanon and raised Muslim, is a stunningly beautiful man. And all of the male actors should have grown their own hair and beards, imho. A good six months, and a rewrite.)

What I should have seen instead was The Greatest Story Ever Told with Max von Sydow. Even Jeff Hunter's King of Kings had this beat - and Robert Powell's Jesus of Nazareth. But, it's my own fault. That title should have been enough of a heads up.

I think so; I love the history, I love the story and so I felt very let down. It's been playing over and over here, and a couple of other channels have picked it up, so it's not only on NatGeo any more. It's three hours long - with commercials - so there is plenty of time to do it right. It begins with the Nativity, and a very brief cover of it, too; you see Jesus again, as a boy of about ten (not the twelve-year-old in the temple), and then he's all grown-up.

I would really like to see somebody take the Jim Bishop books, The Day Christ was Born, and The Day Christ Died and dramatise them. His The Day Lincoln was Shot was just the most incredible thing (a 94 minute tv movie was made from it in 1998; don't know how I missed it.) Very scholarly works, every single one of them.

Oh, Moonfleet! YES! I saw it online! *fans self rapidly, recalling the swimming - Geeze Louise, he looks like he's carved from ivory!* (there's a photo of him being wrapped in coats and hot water bottles just as soon as they finished the shot.) Image I'm sorry but he is just so lovely in this :paperbag: - I don't think I heard a word he said the whole film. :paperbag: And some more...

My heart keeps jump-starting :D :blushy: :paperbag:

I understand what you mean about "Killing Jesus". My favourite to date is still Robert Powell, and I rather liked Jeff Hunter. It feels kind of weird if somebody starts taking bis liberties with the story... And still I'd like to watch it.i

I think that's enough for now  . As it says in Romeo and Juliet, "Love moderately. Long love doth so."

“I play Richard of Gloucester, one of the brothers of York, who eventually becomes King Richard III. Richard is a loyal, humble, ambitions man but loving through and through. Also, he was the key protector of his family’s bloodline to remain on the throne. This also means he is willing to sacrifice great amounts to see the York house stay in power, and that means he could be very dangerous…”

Yeah they are. Not hazel with mostly green, but green green, like emeralds. *feeling a bit swoony over the green green eyes*
