I just saw that there's no live stream for the funeral...

I was able to follow the service via 90 second updates from The Telegraph, and a program of the reburial made available online from the King Richard in Leicester website; I didn't see it until this morning and couldn't print it out so I had to fiddle around to find out where they were in the service (the thing wasn't collated at all, and by the time I realized that, they were well into it.)

Still, I can't complain (not it'd do any good  - I will never understand why it wasn't made available beyond Channel 4. I'd have paid for it, truly.) Anyway, it's finished, and he's safely buried with all the prayers and good will of those like me, who have loved and obsessed over him. In the forty-one years since I first became aware of Richard, I never could have imagined this, and it's been grand.

RIP, Dickon...

That was beautiful. The poem was perfect, Benedict's rendition was touching and the edit, showing the king's name on the Kilkenny plinth as the line referencing the carving of it was read, was spot on...

Thanks, Ms. B.

David Tennant as Richard II (I just found this and had to post it because of his gold nail polish.)

He does  !

It's funny but I was thinking that once the reburial was over, that was going to be the end of things. But far from it. Now it seems that the real work of rehabilitating Richard begins - not that it doesn't have a tremendous foundation to start with.

Everyday I find articles about him; everything from his time, to bits about the dig that'd skipped my notice the first time around, to details about the reburial that I missed because it wasn't live streamed.

So, on we go :) !

On 6 July 1483, Richard Duke of Gloucester was crowned King Richard III in Westminster Abbey. His wife, Anne Neville, was also crowned in Westminster that day. Theirs was the first joint coronation of a king and his queen-consort in the 175 years since that of Edward II and Isabella of France and only the fourth in English history...

so I'm a day late with this because I was making merry yesterday :D.

In the past couple of days, I've found out that TWQ is replaying.

Since it first came out, people have become more and more vocal in just how they feel about it. When it comes to Aneurin's hair, everybody's been in agreement (love at first sight) and the casting (no complaints there.) But now there is much more dislike and downright distaste about the rest of it...I absolutely trust these Ricardians, having followed them since February 4th, of 2013.
