The original banner on this theme overhangs like the current one, I'm assuming that's why it's that way.

Tom, I also use the "unread posts" link  I'm using the one on the front page. I didn't know if anyone else did, so I didn't say anything. There were too many options up there, though I would like that one back :)

Hi guys, just noticed this. I didn't realise any links had gone missing. I didn't delete them or anything. I'll have a look for them and see if my adjustments are responsible for this.

I had intended for the banner to be resized to sit on top of the frame, but the impression I got was that emclelland didn't want it to be shrunk. I personally think it would look better if it were smaller.

Sorting out the missing links now.

The attachment is a reduced screen shot.

I'm pretty much getting what Tom's getting in his screenshot (the slight banner overhang), but I have a lot more brown 'cloth' either side.

I too thought it was supposed to look like that!

How wide is your screen, mate? I think that may have something to do with it. The banner overhangs because that's the size it is compared to the forum. I'm making it a bit smaller and adding a frame. I'll put up the altered version in a bit.

I'm on a 20" widescreen monitor at 1680 x 1050 if that helps...

I think mine is about the same, but I use Cometbird, a clone of Firefox. The forum fills my page with about 2/3 of an inch of brown fabric on either side. The new banner is ready now.

If emclelland hates it, I'll put the old one back.

That's bang on for me - however, the tabs are slightly off to the right!

Ah that looks better.

Though now it seems like there's a lot of empty space around the buttons across the top just under the banner. Is there a way to tighten that up and use less padding?
Or better, move them down onto the parchment instead of in the solid brown background?

Cool! I'm looking for a way to add "View Unread Topics" for Tom. It's not as straightforward as I thought it would be. I'll do it, though. I'll find a way.

I'll do it now. I only did it like that because I was under the impression that I'd buried something.

Thanks for the effort.

If it turns out to be too much of a problem don't worry about it. Getting to that list from the Portal page as suggested works. Using that link in the forum was more of a welcome convenience and a habit I had developed.

I noticed that now using the back button to get back to the unread list shows an updated page with the read posts off of the list. For a while the back button would just take me back to an un-updated page with all of the posts still on the list. :)

If all else fails I will find a way around the problem. There is always another way. :P

I don't know what's happened there, mate. It's not a feature I use, so I guess that's why. Still looking into it.

Tom, what's the difference between search.php?search_id=unanswered and search.php?search_id=unread?

The other links should be visible. Is "unread posts" the only one that's missing now?

Hmm, it fits now into the banner space, but it looks pretty distorted. Is there a way to scale down the banner to maintain the ratio of width and height, or is the space available at the top of the site limited by height constraints?
