Was RTB hacked?
Was this site hacked for a while? For a few days another site came up instead of RTB.org. It had a bunch of Tolkien looking links, but it was some sort of credit card help site.

There was a problem with the hosting but it's resolved now. I contacted Cassie and O to let them know what had happened and they sorted it out.

Re: Was RTB hacked?
No problem. I went to reply to a post that came up in my notifications in my emails and found an advert farm where my beloved forum used to be. I recognised it for what it was and... you know the rest. I'm glad it's sorted now.

Re: Was RTB hacked?
Apparently the hack messed up my account in that I can't log in at home from my macintosh computers. I tried clearing the cache but it didn't seem to make a difference. I also tried registering a new name but it would repeatedly give me the 'accept the terms' page. I tried it here at work on my Windows 7 and no problems. I'll try using Safari insteade of Chrome and see if that make a diff.

Re: Was RTB hacked?
Chrome is a rubbish browser. Try Firefox. I have no problems with that. The problem you're experiencing may be with your browser or computer.

Re: Was RTB hacked?
Two different Macintosh computers will not log in here using Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. It's doubtful that both computers have problems when it is only this site they won't log into, and only since that hack/re-direct a week or so ago. I guess if this is the way it is, it is what it is. Take care everyone. Its been fun Ringbearer/Balrog - 2001 - 2012.

I'm sorry you're having this problem, really I am, but there's nothing I can do about it on my end and you're the only person reporting this. If clearing cache and cookies doesn't work I've no idea what to suggest.

Are you accessing the site by www.rememberthebalrog.org or rememberthebalrog.org?
If the former, try dropping the 'www'

Re: Was RTB hacked?
They need to be made to resolve via a 301 redirect. Hang on, I'll see if I can do it via the backoffice.
Edit: can't do it from here.
Edit 2: I've put in a request for a 301 redirect with the Big Kahuna and hopefully he'll sort it out from his end.
